With Halloween parties hitting classrooms this week and next, there’s an abundance of games and crafts that are sure to enhance the experience.

Crafts that can be incorporated into the party include ghoulish artwork featuring the old-time favorite of using macaroni to simulate brains or grapes mimicking eyeballs.
Games can include the traditional favorite of bobbing for apples, requiring a basin, water, and an array of apples.

The game involves students dipping their faces into the water in an attempt to capture the healthy treat in their teeth. It is sure to provide plenty of laughs as students try to maneuver the game.

Peeled grapes can be placed in a bowl that would give students the sensation of touching eyes. A simple game is created and the reactions produced will range from eerie feelings to laughter.

The game can also be tweaked to use a student-friendly pong-style game where students try to toss the “eyeballs” into cups to win a prize.

A ring toss game can easily be created by making witch hats using construction paper and cutting the center part out of paper plates. The students would stand a short distance from the hat and try their hand at landing their ring securely on the witch hat to win simple prizes, such as candy or bragging rights.

Another fun game is placing donuts on a string and require students to attempt securing a donut without using their hands. Students are sure to have fun trying to bite at a donut hanging from a string. Make sure to leave slack in the line so that the game presents a challenge to students.

A mummy sack race can also be created using construction paper. Students’ legs are wrapped in the paper and they have to navigate the course in the same fashion of a sack race. However, this game becomes more challenging and fun as the students would have to keep their legs together while jumping their way across the course to see who can win the race.
